In October 2024, Karin Rådström assumed the post of president and CEO at Daimler Truck, the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles with 54 billion euros in 2024 revenue. Prior, she had spent four years running the company’s historic core, Mercedes-Benz Trucks; a slowdown for that segment in Europe was responsible for a 3% decrease in revenue last year after a record 2023. Among her achievements are delivering 7.5% operating margin for Mercedes-Benz Trucks in 2024 after inheriting a loss when she started, and in November 2024 launching the brand’s first long-haul EV capable of 500 kilometers of range, the eActros 600. Now she is putting Daimler Truck at the forefront of autonomous driving through a planned U.S. commercial launch in 2027 with subsidiary Torc Robotics. Rådström hails from the home town of Swedish truckmaker Scania; she started her career in the industry by joining her hometown company in 2004.
