Janet Truncale joined Ernst & Young back in 1991 and has since risen to the top. For more than 30 years, she worked in the financial services arm of the business; in July 2024, when former CEO Carmine Di Sibio retired, Truncale was named global chair and CEO of the roughly 400,000-person organization. She’s already begun to make major changes at the company, after a plan under Di Sibio to split the company in two collapsed in 2023. Truncale’s new “all-in” strategy, as she calls it, aims to do the opposite: unify departments, streamline operations, and focus more on collaboration across the firm’s large geographical footprint and on big bets, including transformation, sustainability, and managed services.
