Daniela Amodei

The cofounder and president of Anthropic, Daniela Amodei helps lead a company at the bleeding edge of the AI revolution. Along with her older brother, Dario Amodei, who is the company’s CEO, Daniela was one of a group of seven OpenAI employees who jumped ship together to create Anthropic in 2021. Today, Anthropic is valued at $61.5 billion—a financial milestone it achieved when it closed a $3.5 billion funding round with a group of Silicon Valley venture capital firms in March 2025. Anthropic also enjoys a close relationship with Amazon, which has invested $8 billion in the startup to date and turned to Anthropic’s Claude AI models to help power the updated version of its Alexa digital assistant. Amodei leads Anthropic teams that help ensure its AI models are safe and trustworthy—and so far, this effort has been successful, with independent testers finding Claude generally harder to cajole or trick into jumping its guardrails than competing AI software.
