- OpenAI’s chief technology officer, Mira Murati, is leaving the ChatGPT company after more than six years—and the tech world is waiting to hear what her next move will be. - It has been a busy couple of years for Murati since ChatGPT became one of the main drivers of the AI boom. When the OpenAI board ousted founder Sam Altman last year, Murati was tapped as interim CEO. Murati reportedly shared some of the OpenAI board’s concerns but ultimately supported rehiring Altman. He was reinstated days later. - OpenAI is now rolling out its latest AI model, o1, boasting better reasoning capabilities. In the past year, the ChatGPT maker also introduced a new flagship model, GPT-4o. - The company is now valued at around $150 billion, with Apple, Nvidia, and partner Microsoft reportedly in talks to invest in the AI computing business.
