Having co-led the Consumer and Community Banking division of JPMorgan Chase since May 2021, Marianne Lake became the sole CEO of the division in January of this year. She has been with JPM for 25 years. Previously, Lake was the CEO of consumer lending from 2019 to 2021, and the CFO from 2013 to 2019. Lake is viewed as one of the top contenders to succeed current CEO Jamie Dimon. She is also a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors’ Federal Advisory Council, representing the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Earlier this year, Lake drew criticism from Sen. Elizabeth Warren for saying Chase may start charging for checking accounts and other products as a result of new regulatory rules that cap overdraft and late fees. Consumer and Community Banking is JPMorgan Chase's most lucrative division, driving 43% of the company’s revenue last year. The division added almost 3.6 million new customers in 2023.
