Kathryn Mikells joined Exxon Mobil in 2021 as SVP and chief financial officer. Before Exxon, Mikells spent six years as CFO for London-based Diageo. She is Exxon Mobil’s first official CFO; before her appointment, members of the management team shared the finance duties. Mikells is the first woman to join the management committee of Exxon, the U.S.’s largest publicly traded oil and gas company. For the full year 2023, Exxon Mobil reported total revenue of $344.6 billion. Mikells leads the company’s disciplined spending strategy. As of Q2 2024, the company has garnered about $10.7 billion in savings since 2019. Exxon Mobil is on track with plans to achieve an additional $5 billion in structural savings by 2027. Mikells is also managing the company's plans to pursue more than $20 billion in lower-emission investments, from 2022 through 2027. She played a crucial role in the $4.9 billion integration of Denbury, a carbon solutions company, acquired in November 2023, which is expected over time to enable 100 million metric tons in CO2 emissions reductions annually.
