Christel Heydemann

Christel Heydemann became CEO of French telecommunications company Orange in 2022. She also sits on the company’s board of directors. In 2023, Orange had revenues of €44.1 billion ($48.8 billion), a slight increase from the previous year (€43.5 billion). In 2023, its business in Africa and the Middle East was up by 11.4%, and for the first time since 2018, its Spanish business saw year-on-year growth. In March, Orange and Spanish telco Masmovil formed a 50/50 joint venture in Spain; Orange has since deconsolidated activities in the country. As part of the company’s Lead the Future initiative, Orange Business acquired Expertime, a consulting company focused on Microsoft technologies, in December 2023. Orange met its 2015 goal of reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions by 30%—and did so two years ahead of schedule.
