- Allison Kirkby became the first woman CEO of BT in February 2024, after serving as a non-executive director on the telecommunications company’s board since March 2019. - She brings chief executive experience from her stint at Telia between 2020 and 2024, a leading Nordic media house. Kirkby was also the president and group CEO of TDC Group in 2018 and 2019, and has held financial and operational positions at 21st Century Fox, Virgin Media, Procter & Gamble, and Guinness. - As chief executive, Kirkby will spearhead a £15 billion rollout of fiber broadband to 25 million homes by 2026. She will also cut 55,000 jobs by 2023, and has established a new strategy and change unit to drive the next stage for the company.- Over the past year, BT Group has garnered an annual revenue of £20.8 billion with a profit of £1.2 billion.
