Yet the industry veteran is running the company at a turbulent time, as the Russian invasion of Ukraine puts French energy supplies at risk. Russia’s Gazprom has threatened to shut off gas supplies to Engie over a payment dispute, but Engie executives said in August that they still have sufficient volumes to meet the upcoming winter needs.
