Ruth Porat

  • Title
    CFO, Google and Alphabet
  • Affiliation
    Alphabet
  • Age
    58

Porat has quickly established herself as a powerful force in tech. Just three months after taking Google’s CFO job in May 2015, she got a promotion when it created a Berkshire Hathaway–like holding company, Alphabet, and named her CFO of that company as well. Wall Street seems to approve: Alphabet’s stock price has jumped 20% since the reorganization, and in 2016 the company reported double-digit increases in both profits and revenues. Porat is also bringing discipline to the company’s moonshots, such as self-driving cars and Internet-providing balloons.
