Hanlon continues as president of the northern division of Home Depot, the company’s single largest unit, with $29.5 billion in revenues, some 800 stores, and 110,000 employees. The 31-year company veteran and onetime student of physical therapy is a very visible part of the company’s commitment to customer service, which has bounced back after years of decline. It makes sense: She was mentored by head of stores Ann-Marie Campbell (No. 20). Home ­Depot’s stock is up 16% in the past year, outpacing the surging S&P 500.
