Amanda Blanc

An insurance industry insider and Aviva board member, Blanc took over at the $89.6 billion London-based Aviva in July when her predecessor stepped down for family health reasons 15 months into the job. Blanc has moved quickly to recenter the company, working to offload secondary businesses—in Singapore, France, and Italy—to focus on its core U.K., Ireland, and Canada markets. Blanc has rejected calls to split Aviva’s life and general insurance businesses into separate companies and has made it her mission for Aviva to become the U.K’s leading insurer.
