In April, Nakagawa became the first woman ever to lead Nomura’s asset management arm—making her responsible for an operation with nearly $500 billion in assets under management and 1,500 employees across 12 countries. Her new position is the culmination of 31 years with the Japanese financial services giant, during which she’s held numerous leadership roles overseeing everything from Nomura’s capital markets underwriting operations to its healthcare business. Working out of the firm’s Tokyo headquarters, Nakagawa is prioritizing the growth of Nomura Asset Management’s international business.
