Almeida stepped into the role of CFO at Brazilian oil and gas company Petrobras in March 2019 after a 25-year stint as a finance executive at multinational mining corporation Vale SA. In the new job, she helps oversee the multibillion-dollar operation, which currently ranks 74th on the Fortune Global 500 list. It’s a challenging job: since receiving an order to pay $2.95 billion to settle a corruption scandal lawsuit in the U.S. in January 2018, Petrobras has been in a state of cleanup and reputation repair, but the company still raked in nearly $95.6 billion in revenue and yielded a roughly $7.2 billion profit in 2018.
