After 2015 revenue fell 11.4% (4.9% in local currency) to $15.8 billion and profits dipped by a third at Europe’s largest home-improvement retailer, Laury, in her second year as CEO, announced a five-year turnaround plan in early 2016. Its goal: to increase annual profits by about $655 million. As part of that strategy, Kingfisher is shuttering 65 of its 365 B&Q DIY stores as it expands its Screwfix chain, which sells home improvement goods and saw sales increase 17.5% in U.S. dollars last year.
