Now in her third year on the job, Leroy continues to prune expenses at the Belgian telecom, which saw profits slide 38% in dollars (26% in local currency) in 2015. Her goal: cutting $110 million by 2018. The company also introduced an early retirement plan in 2016 that will pare nearly 2,000 of its 14,000 employees over the next five years. Proximus attracted new customers to its TV subscription and fixed internet services, which grew by 10.5% and 6.6% respectively, but its voice customer base declined by 1.8%. It also expects new EU rules that reduce roaming charges in the single market to deal a $31 million hit to revenue this year.
