The budget airline chief is now facing one of her toughest challenges, as Britain’s coming exit from the EU threatens easyJet’s meteoric pan-European growth. Despite rumors of her own exit (it was widely reported that Marks & Spencer offered her the top job), McCall is lobbying regulators to ensure that the UK remains in the single European aviation market, a key to the survival of low-cost airlines. The company marked its 20th anniversary last year with net profit up 22%, to $847 million, but has lost 35% of its market value since January because of strikes, terrorist disruptions, and the post-Brexit market shock. On the plus side: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II appointed McCall a Dame.
