Vivian Cheung, Airport Authority Hong Kong's first homegrown chief executive since April 2025, has shifted from building capacity to filling it. Hong Kong's airport handled 63 million passengers, up 14.7%, and 5.1 million tonnes of cargo in FY2025/26—maintaining its position as the world's busiest cargo hub. A new government blueprint is targeting connections to 240 destinations by 2030; Cheung is also pushing a new yacht marina and a 20,000-seat performance venue due in 2028.
