Silicon Valley pioneer Oracle has long lagged Amazon, Microsoft, and Google in cloud computing. But CEO Safra Catz has helped the company catch up by partnering with rivals to let customers run Oracle products on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Over the past year, Oracle has doubled down on AI: It’s a key player in the $500 billion Stargate initiative—alongside OpenAI and SoftBank—to build massive U.S. data centers. In June, Oracle reportedly signed a $30 billion cloud infrastructure deal with OpenAI tied to Stargate, a figure larger than Oracle’s current cloud business. Oracle’s fiscal fourth-quarter revenue rose 11% to $15.9 billion, with cloud infrastructure up 52%. That momentum has helped shift investor sentiment, with analysts increasingly viewing Oracle as a rising force in cloud AI.
