As OpenAI’s profile has soared, so too has Joshua Kushner’s. His firm, Thrive Capital, has led funding rounds for the AI startup, which is now valued at $300 billion. The son of real estate developer Charles Kushner and brother of former Trump senior advisor Jared Kushner, Joshua Kushner founded Thrive Capital more than a decade ago. Early successful investments include Warby Parker, Twitch, and Instagram; the firm has also taken stakes in GitHub, Stripe, and Kim Kardashian’s Skims. As OpenAI’s Sam Altman previously told Fortune in a profile of Kushner: “Josh makes high-conviction bets on high-quality companies and founders, and he doesn’t care too much about what other investors think. I feel a lot of camaraderie with that.”
