David Solomon isn’t the challenged CEO of Goldman Sachs anymore. Just a few years ago, some questioned Solomon’s leadership style after an exodus of senior bankers and layoffs. He silenced the critics by winning. In the first quarter, Goldman reported a record $3.17 trillion in assets under supervision, an 11% increase from the year before. Net earnings increased 15% to $4.74 billion, while net revenue rose 6% to $15.06 billion. Goldman’s stock performance helped Solomon stay in charge and get a raise: In 2024, he made $39 million, up 26% from the year before. He will also earn another $80 million if he stays at Goldman another five years.
