Walgreens Boots Alliance

Walgreens Boots Alliance is a global health care, pharmacy, and retail company. It operates tens of thousands of retail locations under the Walgreens and Duane Reade names in the U.S.; Boots in the U.K., Ireland, and Thailand; and Benavides in Mexico. The company’s health care segment owns VillageMD, a health care provider with primary care, specialty care, and urgent care divisions; CareCentrix, a home health care provider; and Shields, a hospital pharmacy system. Walgreens Boots Alliance stock became a component of the Dow Jones industrial average in 2018; in March 2025, it reached a deal to go private in a sale to Sycamore Partners.
