A major player in the world of big tech, Thiel was cofounder at both PayPal and Palantir. He has made numerous successful investments including Facebook. In 2007 Thiel was publicly outed as being gay in a Gawker blog post. “I am proud to be gay,” he subsequently announced onstage at a Republican convention in 2016.
