The Georgian-born serial entrepreneur joined the LGBTQ+ app Grindr as CEO shortly after its 2022 IPO. He left the U.S. in 2003 but returned in 2005 when he realized he could not pursue a political career in Georgia as an openly gay man. In an interview with Fortune, Arison disclosed that the app has the potential to play a more active role in advocating for LGBTQ rights abroad, given its use in over 190 countries, many of which criminalize homosexuality.
