McCarthy revealed he grew up feeling "depressed, gay, and deeply closeted" and it was reality shows like The Real World that offered him his first glimpse of what life could be like if he embraced his true identity. Today, he leads a global network of employees with a reach of one billion users in 180 countries. Under his leadership, the new Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios produces some of the world’s top culturally defining shows such as Emily in Paris, RuPaul's Drag Race and LGBTQ+ sitcom, Uncoupled.
