Franklin Media was founded in 2013 with a mission to give a second life to as many textbooks as possible. It works primarily with college bookstores, universities, and national textbook distributors to help them purge their excess and surplus material in an efficient environmentally responsible way. It processes millions of used books through its warehouses to identify those that can be redistributed as quality, affordable, educational material. It has recycled over 9 million pounds of books through local recyclers in the community and has worked extensively with local school districts to help with the logistics of adopting a new curriculum and the disposal of hundreds of thousands of textbooks.
