Hoffman Management & Construction holds the distinction of being both veteran- and family-owned. Founded in 1984 by Henry Hoffman, who served in Vietnam, the engineering, general contracting, and construction management services firm is also led by his son, Erik, who served during U.S. military operations in Kosovo. Veterans make up 20% of their workforce, and the Hoffmans want that number to rise to 40% to 50%. Older veterans at HMCC support new colleagues recently returned from service, while the company helps guide employees through benefits they may be entitled to through the VA or GI Bill.
