FATHOM

FATHOM co-founders Richard Stump and Michelle Mihevc want to make the un-makeable. With production centers in Oakland and Seattle, the company offers 3-D printing, advanced manufacturing, engineering, design, prototyping, low volume production, and contract R&D services. FATHOM was founded in 2008 and once operated out of Mihvec’s garage in San Ramon, Calif. When they wanted to expand, she and Stump looked for space in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, but settled on Oakland for its affordability and access to creatives.
