Eigen

Eigen is an ecosystem composed of multiple protocols. EigenLayer lets users stake their already-staked Ethereum to earn additional rewards as well as secure and verify other protocols and software, such as oracles or crypto bridges. EigenCloud caters to software applications beyond crypto. Founded by University of Washington professor Sreeram Kannan in 2021, EigenLayer was launched in 2023 and holds $4.5 billion in total value as of June 2026.
