Progressive’s Inclusion Quarterly initiative features speakers and discussion groups, and encourages storytelling and sharing. A weeklong inclusion program in 2022 attracted 32,269 employees, who attended programming on topics such as thriving in a digital workplace and using emotional intelligence to nurture relationships and trust.
Since its workplace shifted to 90% remote and hybrid over the pandemic, the insurer’s staff have increasingly relied on its intracompany social media platform to connect and share stories; 4,500 employees joined the platform in 2022.
Every Progressive worker is eligible to recommend that any charity receive a $100 donation from the Progressive Insurance Foundation. In 2023 the company expanded its donation program to include national nonprofit Family Promise, which, alongside Progressive’s ongoing collaboration with the Cleveland operations of Humble Design, represents the company’s particular commitment to ending homelessness in the U.S.

A leading provider of auto, vehicle, and homeowner insurance in the U.S., Progressive says that 96% of its employees agree with the following statement: “When you join the company, you are made to feel welcome.”
- Within the past two years, Progressive says, it has increased the representation of people of color among senior leadership from 13% to 17%. And at the end of 2022, it says, 45% of those in leadership positions were women and 25% were people of color.
- The Multicultural Leadership Development Program is a 12-to-18-month training to help higher-performing employees prepare for managerial positions.
- All employees have access to PrudentRx, which lets members avoid out-of-pocket expenses for all approved specialty medications in Progressive’s health plan.
