W. L. Gore & Associates

“We have always accepted informal flexible work schedules (working different hours to accommodate a doctor’s appointment, travel on weekend so take a few hours off on Friday, etc.) and in addition, we have had some associates work remotely when their roles are primarily office based. Recently, we have been very open to roles that do not need to be in a building, to work remotely whether just from home across town or from another state. This option has allowed us to retain more associates and hire some that were not interested in living near our facilities. It has opened doors for many that had family situations that would not allow them to work from locations where we have facilities and thus could not join Gore."

"Another benefit that Gore rolled out was paternity leave. While it is only a few days, it was adopted by Gore due to associate feedback that this was necessary. Fathers can now take a few days off of work to assist when their little ones first come home now,” says one worker. Read the Great Place to Work review here. W.L.
