Fortune’s second-ever list of the best employers in tech is divided into three categories: small, medium, and large companies. To compile the list, Great Place to Work surveyed 48,000 employees at 115 companies about career development opportunities, risk-taking, work-life balance, compensation and recognition, transparency, camaraderie, and other factors.

Workiva, an Iowa-born enterprise software company, understands the cost of doing business—from transportation to phone bills, and even the cost on employee health. So to make sure its employees have the resources they need to get the job done, the company offers them a range of discounts for things like car rentals, gym memberships, phone plans, and even taxi rides after a work function. Yelp, a San Francisco-based company whose website and app lets people explore and post reviews of local businesses, has all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a Silicon Valley company that has to compete for the best employees: from weekly get-togethers over beer, to semi-annual costume parties, to a comprehensive health plan that even covers fertility plans, and everything in between.
