Methodology for Fortune Fintech Innovators Asia (2024)

The inaugural Fintech Innovators Asia list has been compiled by Fortune editors to showcase the leading companies shaping the Future of fintech in Asia. The ranking features 60 of the most dynamic financial services companies in this fast-growing region. The list comprises five categories—blockchain and crypto, payments, digital banking, insurtech, and wealthtech. Most of the categories rank the top 10 companies in their respective sectors, except for digital banking, which showcases 15 companies and five rising stars—in part due to the extensive range of digital banks operating in Asia.

To construct the 60 Fintech Innovators Asia 2024 list, Fortune requested data from more than 300 companies. To be considered for the list, companies must demonstrate they have active operations in the Asia-Pacific region. In evaluating the firms, Fortune’s editors considered a range of factors including the company’s innovations and use of advanced technologies, financial performance, market impact, scalability, regulatory compliance, security measures, and unique features deployed to improve the lives of consumers.
