Zurich is a leading Swiss insurance group, which was founded in 1872. Initially covering marine insurance, it rapidly expanded into a multi-line, global group offering life, pensions, investments, assurance, and property & casualty coverages. Today, Zurich's largest business is its global property and casualty insurance division, though its life insurance segment, especially in Europe, remains significant. The group also operates a U.S.-based farming insurance business. Zurich is headquartered in its namesake city.
