West Monroe Partners hasn’t just adapted to flexible work—they’ve created internal programming to support it. The consulting company dubs its philosophy “Working Mindfully,” which it reinforces through newsletters, a video series titled Normalizing Flexibility, Q&A sessions with employees about what’s working for them, and a monthly stipend for hybrid-work–related costs. To help employees ease into their weekends, no one schedules meetings during Friday afternoons. One big move the company made in 2021 to improve equity and inclusion was the hiring of new leaders to oversee these efforts—an inclusion and diversity manager, an employee resource groups manager, and a diversity recruiting manager. Also in the spirit of inclusion, the company has begun listing a college degree as a “preferred” rather than mandatory credential for prospective employees looking to join the ranks.
