Change the World 2025
In Brazil, as in many countries in the developing world, access to digital technology is expanding far faster than economic development. Vivo, the commercial brand of Brazil’s biggest telecom provider, is striving to help its customers close that gap. Its Vivo Pay is many Brazilians’ first access to traditional credit: It has issued about $170 million in loans since 2020. Vivo’s telehealth service, Vale Saúde Sempre, now has 390,000 subscribers. And the Telefônica Vivo Foundation has trained more than 72,000 teachers in Brazil to promote digital literacy.
