French construction and engineering group Vinci has businesses in areas such as energy infrastructure and services–including grid transmission and distribution lines–road-building and operation, and airport management. It operates in 120 countries, and most of its revenue comes from outside France, with about a quarter coming from non-European markets led by Latin and North America. Construction and energy underpin Vinci’s revenue base, though profitability is mainly driven by the group’s smaller, but more capital-intensive concessions business, particularly its motorway operating arm Vinci Autoroutes in France. The Paris-headquartered group has 280,000 employees.
