"Our CEO and President are incredible. They are smart, personable, and truly care about each and every one of our employees. They go out of their way to engage with employees, sit and have lunch with employees, address them by name, etc. I appreciate the transparency they provide, and I trust that they are leading us in the right direction."
Employees say:
"Vaxcyte is not as stratified as some other companies—junior employees can talk to upper management upon request or even casually. One of the co-founders frequently eats lunch at a lunch table with junior employees. Folks are respected as humans beyond their role definition and title."
Employees say:
"Vaxcyte truly walks the talk when it comes to culture. By investing in tools like the Enneagram and offering a generous L&D stipend, the company demonstrates a genuine commitment to our personal and professional development. It is refreshing to work somewhere that prioritizes 'leading with heart' and invests so heavily in the growth of its staff."
Employees say:
"Even as the company has grown to ~500, management is still accessible and communication doesn't get lost between all of the layers of people. Also, I feel more secure about my job than in other companies. Management has always shown a willingness to invest in people's development and well-being, so I genuinely feel that they would only layoff if the company was in dire situations."
Employees say:
"There is a strong emphasis on culture and upholding values. We have the 4 'Vaxcyte Values' and they are a touchstone for all initiatives. The emphasis on empathy and our collective humanity coupled with honest practicality makes this feel like a very stable and safe environment. You can focus on doing your work and not have to worry about politicking, backstabbing, or layoffs."
Employees say:
"Very inclusive—still able to maintain its original small-company feel, even though we've grown exponentially over the past year. The highest tiers of management are accessible and often seen walking through the company, talking with employees, and participating in fun events."
Employees say:
"People here are extremely supportive of everybody. As somebody joining a corporate organization straight out of graduate school, I was made to feel comfortable from the day I stepped foot in Vaxcyte. My manager and the leadership team have been extremely helpful with feedback, support and fostering a healthy workplace relationship."

"People here are very excited about the work we do, and it's infectious. The EC publicly celebrates successes monthly, helping us all feel very connected to each other and our work. There is also a great deal of trust from upper management, so we are empowered to make decisions, pursue alternative ways of getting our work done, and sharing best practices. It's an environment where it's not just talk about empowerment and trust, it's truly put into action."

"This is an exciting place to work because we are growing quickly, there is a great positive energy, I feel the founders and leaders really care about the employees and feel the company as a whole is working towards a common goal. I have the best boss I have ever had and feel more recognized for my work and contributions than ever before."

"Vaxcyte has an excellent management team. There is so much positive energy. I am excited to be a part of an incredible team. I love the work we do. When I visit the site, it's very comfortable to work here. The company has put a lot of thought and energy into setting the site up to be a fun and modern place to work. I love the kitchen selections—very generous of the company. It helps to be able to work on site and not worry about finding food options. The company is heavily focused on its people and making them happy. I feel like one of the family, even though I am mainly remote."
