Though the United States Postal Service is an independent government agency, it’s still wholly responsible for bringing in its own revenue stream. And despite Americans’ increased reliance on package delivery during the pandemic, the agency fell into even greater debt last year. For the year the USPS recorded a loss of $9.2 billion, adding to a decade of losses totaling $668 billion.
