Fortune 500

Financial performance for the 160-year-old insurance holding company mostly held steady in 2020: Revenue inched up 1.3% for the year, and net income—at just shy of $2.7 billion—rose 2.9%. But that was enough to move Travelers up eight spots on the Fortune 500. The company extended its Stay-at-Home Auto Premium Credit Program last year, giving its U.S. personal auto insurance customers a 15% credit on premiums in April, May, and June. The company also accelerated commission payments to eligible agents and brokers, assisting them by putting more cash in their pockets during a difficult time.
