The Wonderful Company

Employees say:

"I have never had such a great onboarding experience as I have had here. They allow employees to truly take their time, get to know the company, the job position and all the people you will be working with. They focus on the PERSON and then the job. They let you learn the tools you will be using and are extremely diligent in allowing you to learn and grow. I have not meet anyone who isn't willing to jump in and help when you need, give you advice or just chat about life."

Employees say:

"I had a stroke in early 2023 and I was out the rest of the year. This company kept my job, and when I came back in 2024, I was treated so well. I was told that if I needed more time, to take it; that if I needed any accommodations I should tell my managers/HR; and they gave me the chance to slowly get back to my job. They displayed a loyalty to me, just an employee (not an executive), which is rare in today's American work culture. I love my company and my managers."

Employees say: "They not only celebrate, but encourage continuous improvement, meaning everyone at every and any level is trained in tools that can be used to help improve processes to make our jobs better, more streamlined, more efficient, etc. Also, the company cares about our health and well-being and even rewards us financially for taking care of ourselves (from getting our physicals to getting our steps in, etc.)."

Employees say:

"From the beginning I’ve felt the company was willing to invest in me with travel for training, expensed meals, generous benefits, and company perks which has made me feel valued as an employee. Everyone has always been respectful of me as an individual and of my priorities outside of work. I’ve been very impressed with upper management’s quick response to our voices. When they roll out something new, they very quickly make adjustments based on our feedback whether it be a software update or an HR decision."

The Wonderful Company is a privately held $5 billion company that delivers healthy foods, like pistachios, pomegranate juice, and lemons, along with water, wines, and flowers. It is America’s largest citrus grower, producing mandarin oranges, seedless lemons, and pomegranates, and is among the world’s leading growers of tree nuts. It operates in California’s agriculture center of the Central Valley and its wine regions, with operations also in Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Mexico, Fiji, and more. In February, the University of Kansas renamed its institute for sustainable engineering for the Wonderful Company after it invested nearly $2.6 billion in philanthropy and corporate social responsibility.

In partnership with Central Valley residents—who include about 3,000 of the company’s employees—school boards, and county officials, the company has addressed issues like poor air quality and compromised water systems and has built infrastructure like community centers for kids, walkways in parks, and affordable housing as well as establishing a tax program that returns benefits back to the community. Each year, the Wonderful Company provides each of its employees with up to $1,000 they can direct to charitable organizations of their choice and provides additional matching when employees donate beyond that. Its Wonderful College Scholarship program has funded the education of more than 3,000 young people through higher education.
