Splunk, founded in 2003, offers a platform to help companies analyze data in the cloud. The publicly traded company, which employs over 7,500 “Splunkers,” puts a big emphasis on employee wellness. In 2021 Splunk launched Spark, a well-being program grounded in five pillars—purpose, emotional, mental, physical, and financial—that shape the programs offered, whether it’s mindfulness sessions, nutritional support, tips on how to balance life and work, or advice on saving for retirement. Spark includes Pwny Perks, a well-being reimbursement program. Splunk also recently rolled out quarterly Global Rest Days, and employees are encouraged not to schedule meetings on Monday mornings or Friday afternoons. In a recent survey, 90% of Splunkers said their managers genuinely care about their well-being.
