Snowflake

Snowflake is a leading provider of database applications in the cloud. Founded in 2012 by two former Oracle software engineers, Benoit Dageville and Thierry Cruanes, the company went public in 2020 after garnering investment backing from Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway and Marc Benioff’s Salesforce. Customers ranging from retailer Office Depot to food delivery service DoorDash, who use Snowflake's software running on Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure to store vast amounts of information and analyze big data trends. Some customers, such as Weather Source, even use Snowflake to license their data to other users.
