In a day and age when seemingly every employer talks about the importance of mental health, Slalom actually walks the walk. Not only does the Seattle-based global consulting firm encourage its employees to pursue meaningful work through flexible career paths, it also sets them up for success outside the office by prioritizing self-care. In addition to its employee assistance program (which includes a 24/7 support hotline as well as free access to the Headspace meditation app and digital counseling platform Talkspace), Slalom introduced a global THRIVE benefit, which allows workers to be reimbursed up to $350 annually for any expenses that improve their well-being, be it exercise equipment or a day at the spa—the benefit was doubled to $700 in 2021.
