SeaBank Indonesia is owned by Singapore-based tech conglomerate Sea Group, which acquired Indonesia’s Bank BKE in 2021. SeaBank leverages Sea’s popular e-commerce platform Shopee to appeal to retail customers, many of whom lack access to traditional banks. SeaBank Indonesia now has 13 million customers and total assets of nearly $2 billion. Sea has also offered digital banking services in the Philippines since 2022.
