Ahold Delhaize is a Netherlands-based multinational that operates more than a dozen leading supermarket chains, grocery wholesalers and e-commerce brands. These include Belgium’s Delhaize—founded in 1867 and the pioneer of self-service supermarkets in Europe—the Netherlands' Albert Heijn, Romania’s Mega Image, and several major grocery chains in the U.S. where the majority of its revenue is generated. It also has substantial retail operations in other European countries and a joint venture business based in Indonesia. Ahold Delhaize is headquartered in Zaandam, near Amsterdam.
