The pandemic was not easy for the human resources and staffing firm. It laid off and furloughed hundreds of employees in the pandemic, while its CEO opted out of his salary from May to December 2020 in response to the health care crisis. Still, the company sought to normalize the working day for its employees, offering stipends for work-from-home office supplies and breaking up a workday to accommodate childcare and other responsibilities. “The message is very clear that our health is the most important thing,” says one employee.
