Publix Super Markets

With over 225,000 employees, Publix Super Markets is the world’s largest employee-owned business. One of the 10 largest-volume supermarket chains in the country, Publix owns and operates 1,271 retail locations across the Southeastern U.S. One of the best-performing companies in the grocery industry, Publix has continued to expand and open up new locations in recent years, even during the coronavirus pandemic. In 2020 the company announced it was donating more than $2.5 million to support 113 Habitat for Humanity affiliates and 76 additional organizations providing housing and shelter services across the Southeast. As of May 2021, Publix has administered upwards of 300,000 COVID-19 vaccines at its locations in seven Southeastern states.
