Founded in 1883, PPG is the world’s second-largest coatings producer and a top player in nearly every end market it serves, including auto manufacturing, aerospace, and refinishing. It manufactures and distributes paints, coatings, and specialty materials through three segments: Global Architectural Coatings, Performance Coatings, and Industrial Coatings. It's divested several divisons in recent years, including its silicas products business and its U.S. and Canada architectural coatings business in 2024. After the divestments, the paints and coatings giant still operates in more than 70 countries.
