PepsiCo is the second-largest food and beverage company in the world, known for household snacks such as Cheetos and Doritos, as well as beverages like Gatorade, Pepsi, and Mountain Dew. The company’s revenue rose 13% in 2021 as consumer spending rebounded broadly from the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic. But PepsiCo has forecast that inflation in prices for ingredients and higher shipping costs will hurt its prospects in 2022. The continuing Ukraine-Russia conflict has also negatively affected the beverage giant. In April 2022 the company reported more than $400 million in impairment charges related to its loss of business in the two nations.
